Joe Cieslowski

Joe has been wood carving for over 45 years, working out of the Connecticut Woodcarvers Gallery for 24 of those years. Joe minored in wood technology, graphics, and metals with a degree in technology education from Central Connecticut State University. 

He works in the relief style, carving textures out of pine using chisels, gouges, and knives while finishing off pieces with colored stains. Every piece is hand done without the use of 'modern' tools. Joe specializes in custom work, signs, mirrors, clocks, and rustic scenes.

Shop

The Connecticut Woodcarvers Gallery was established in 1979 and is located on Route 44 in East Canaan, Connecticut. This location is nestled in the Berkshires and lends its inspiration to many of his pieces. The gallery contains not only a showroom but Joe's working space. It is here where he also does live demonstrations of his wood carving techniques.
